Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head, good lacing. Roasted malts, chocolate, ashy and bitter

On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, licorice, roast. Medium body, roast, dark chocolate, licorice, tobacco, smoke finish, very good.

Draft - Dark roasty notes. Jet black with a small brown head. Dark roasty notes with just a touch sourness.

Draft at Mad Swede. Dark brown color with a thick creamy finger of tan head. Mild aroma, a little roast and a little cocoa. At first sip I thought this was too sweet, but the further I drank it mellowed into more of a roasty, bittersweet cocoa flavor. Nice hoppy element.

On tap at alefort. Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is roast malts some ash and little dark chocolate bitter notes. Taste is more of the roast malts ash and some more of the dark chocolate.

Draft at Alefort. Near black pour, small fading beige head. This one’s all about the roast malts, pure and simple.. Sharp, roasty bitterness. Seems thin.

On Tap Black, full tan head. Lots of sharp dark roast. Modest body, and plenty hoppy. Nearing Black IP levels though I would not have guessed 65 IBU Clean finish.
