On Tap at the Boise brewery/taproom Standard black pour, thin spotty tan head and lacing. Great setw dark roast aromas with some chocolate and coffee. Moderate dark roast flavors and quite a bit of slick sweetness. Dont pick up much Rye character but there is a ncie boozy background. Seems to have faded quite a bit

Bottle at Boise Brewing during RBSG. Nearly black in color with a nice tight brown cap. Aroma is strong with roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, and rye barrel. Absolutely loving the accent the rye barrel addsοΏ½ spicy notes and sweetness. Lots of roast, chocolate, and vanilla. Just a little woody. Really enjoyed this one.

22oz bottle thanks to Toby. Pours out a black topped with a tan head. Nose is the rye barrel notes some booze plenty roast malts and a little heat. Taste is more of the heat booze barrel and some dark chocolate.

Bottle - Whisky barrel notes with some dark roast. Jet black with a decent light brown head. Rich barrel notes with a touch of sweetness. Booze and barrel are up front.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong rye whiskey, roast, oak, cocoa. Medium body, dark chocolate, rye, oak, boozy finish, very good.

Taster at brewery. Near black pour, small beige head fades to ring. Roasty, smoky aroma. Taste is woody, roasty, coffee, brown sugar with a boozy back end. Nice aging on this stout.

Bottle. Pours a clear black color with a small white head. A big sweet fruity nose. Rich. Big whiskey, spicy, licorice. Quite nice.
