2023. A hazed copper brown coloured pour with a lasting beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, jammy fruits, nutty malts, cranberry, brown sugars. Some vinous fruity funk. Palate is semi sweet, light tangy, moderate fine carbonation,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty, brown sugars, jammy fruits, red berries, mild funk, red wine barrels. Dusty barrels. Some woody staves. Light spice. Good.

Draught, 7% at Arendsnest. Roasted and papery aroma. Almost clear dark amber colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is sweetish and slightly citric. Quite fruity with dried fruit notes. Mild and mellow alcohol presence.

Decent base beer. Light, perhaps thin, bodied on top of very frontal flavours. The smoke is displayed in proper balance and intensity. Lacking complexity to some extent. A bit one-dimensional. Kleinr appel ams

2018 vintage. Another bottle from the great Corona cellar clearing. Brown with a thin, frothy head that fades away. Aroma of brackish water, smoke. Not too endearing. Taste is mildly bittersweet with some caramel and very mild sour notes. Smoke at the end. The smoke is really the only thing going for the brew, which hovers on the border between dull and unlikeable. Body is medium to light, texture watery, surprisingly little heft for a beer of this style and strength. Below average.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Maltaroma with cinnamon. Medium bodied, slightly alcoholic. Caramelly sweetish flavor. Cinnamon in the finish. Hints of roast. Decent, yet unspectacular bock.

Bouteille: Hazy, ruby-amber coloured, stable off-White head; bitter-sweet aka hoppy-caramelly nose with a fruity and a nutty touch; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and pretty soft; lingering dry bitter-hoppy finish, balanced by the sweetness of dried fruits and caramel. Very fine...
