Taste also rich and malty, spices, caramel, fruits, alcohol. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Bitterness in the finish and some alcohol. Very nice but wouldn’t want more than one.

Pours dark copper color with creamy looking beige head. Refreshingly sweet smell of caramel, toffee and fruits. Full body with soft carbonation. Nice texture, thick and oily. Taste is sweet. Aroma of caramel, toffee, dark fruit and berries, nuts and spices. Traces of alcohol towards the finish. Overall, excellent brew. Pure class.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zürich. It’s quite ironic that 2 days after importing and rating my first Dunkler Bock, there now is one in my usual craft beer bar. Anyway, this one is clearly much better. Floral nose, thick malty taste, dark but not roasty. Fine but well-matched carbonation. Quite sweet, but still not heavy, not your usual heavy bock to warm yourself in winter. Very nice!
