Big Beer Sampler Pack: Pours a clear amber with a quickly dissipating tan head. Strong fruity aroma, along with some alcohol, and a whole lot of malts. When its warm, you can smell it from a good few feet away. Some hops in the taste. Really, really malty. Not too sweet, so true to the advertising. Alcohol is definitely there in the taste. Kind of tangy. Almost syrupy body, which is of course completely and utterly unsurprising. At bars, this beer is sometimes the best alcohol to price ratio though and that earns it some points. My girlfriend gets it if it is there for that reason.

Hazy amber with a small off white head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, caramel, overripe fruits. Vinious flavor with toasted malt, caramel, overripe fruits and it was fairly oxydized.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours ruddy amber with a decent foamy beige head. Warm type aromas of malt and date (or raisin?). Full bodied with creamish carbonation. Flavor is malty, medium dark fruity, and hoppy - to the extent itโ€™s present, but not really fully balancing the malty. Sโ€™ok. Itโ€™s not the common sticky barley wine. Itโ€™s more like real wine - tasty and not thickish. It does finish fruity. Good drink. Note: The heat is very low intensity. Amazing that.

Bottle, 1-2 years old. Winey, dried fruit aroma, slightly oxidized. Like a spicy fruitcake. Sweet flavor with candied fruit and caramel. No hops to be found. Thick, rich, and sweet. Great malt but needs more hops. Donโ€™t know if there were there to begin with, but the sweetness on this was a bit overwhelming.

Bottle thanks to angrypirate06. Pours with a nice off-white head that lasts over a murky burgandy colored body. Some particles. Aroma of currants, raisins, curaco, zesty, toffee, Graham crackers and honey. Flavor is sticky, dark fruits, boozy, orange ring. Alcoholic. Creamy carb. Big.

24th September 2008. Clear brown beer. A nose of bubblegum. A sweet start with a clear bubblegum tone. Then turns spirity and hot. Licorice undertone and ends with a bitter dry finish. Tasty but itโ€™s a bit off the leash!

bottle, pours hazy red with a medium off white head. Aroma is full of candy sugar and caro-syrup, with some citrus notes. Sweet malt and sweet rock candy are lightly balanced with some carmel and prune notes. This stuff is really sweet, and itโ€™s almost unpleasant.
