375 mL bottle poured. Cellared this one a year. The curiosity is about as strong as the beer itself. Thick golden wax over signature cap bottle. Batch #3. Jet black pour, tan cola fizz head. An absolute bourbon treat here. Strong but inviting bourbon nose. Potent. Dries the eyes a bit. Thick body, thicker than expected from the somewhat thin apoeance in the pour. Thick, doughy malts, some chocolate, and all that bourbon. Bold. Excellent beer.

Tasting at Matt’s; batch #3
Dark brown color, small to no head. Strong aroma of bourbon mingling with dark malts, some rubber, some glue, some tar, some apple (acetaldehyde); very nice. Medium body strength, with strong alcohol component; the dark malt profile is not convincing, it is a bit cloying, and the bourbon character is very strong.
Chaotic and boozy.

Bottle - Dark chocolate, bourbon and butterscotch. Jet brown with a small beige head. Nice woody and sweet bourbon notes with coconut and a long finish. Not overly complex, but decent.

500mL bottle, sent from andrewje41 (thanks Andrew!) pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon barrel notes upfront, with a touch of roast and vanilla. Flavour is rather sweet, with lots of bourbon and sweet vanilla, with subdued roast. Dominated by the bourbon and rather sweet, though not cloying. Excellent bourbon bomb.

Bottle at the 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Near black in color, thick ring of brown head. Aroma is heavy roast, bourbon barrel, and heat. Heavily influenced by the barrel treatment; the taste is a lot of the sweet bourbon barrel notes and vanilla. Sturdy amount of roasted malt and a little cocoa.
