Huge malt flavour from the Golden Promise and Munich malt create a highly drinkable ale with just enough Cascade hops to balance out the sweetness. Fermented with English ale yeast, this amber rye ale is the perfect pint to compliment witty banter.

On tap at Devil's Elbow [as Amber Ale]. Pours clear amber with a white head. Damp grass and stale malts. Flavour has stale brown bread and damp grass. If mediocrity was a distinct character, this would have it.

Soft ruby copper body with a bit of foam; middling malt aroma. Flavour is watery malt with a watery finishm Did I mention it's watery? Not memorable, needs more excitement and density. These boys need to think for the future.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy dark amber color with compact head. Smooth, sweetish, bready, with mild rye spiciness and very light fruity esters; a decent beer in concept, but also diacetyl ridden, it has a light but evident butter note in aroma and flavor.
Flawed.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of earthy notes upfront from the rye and toasted malt - not really any hops discernible. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very earthy palate from the rye. Dry toasted malt base to this with no hops to be noticed. A bit muffled and flat, but it's okay. Unspectacular.
