Inspired by the natural beauty of British Columbia and all those who enjoy getting into the outdoors, Down Easy Pale Ale is a Pacific Northwest classic. Whether hiking the West Coast Trail, or paddling slowly across Moraine Lake, Down Easy makes for good company. Emerging artist, Joe Thoong, captured the beauty of that moment in a painting inspired by the style of the Group of Seven.

473ml can. Pours a clear amber with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of caramel malt and weedy hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt and light piney hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Boring and disappointing. More of an ESB than an APA.

Amber, bright, with a medium head. On the nose, earthy C hops with a piney accent. Soft biscuity malts, with a bit of caramel, and mild bitterness, again earthy hops. Tastes like I got a fresh one, which seems important for this beer. I'm down.

Slow ride, take it easy! Er sumpthin. Okay head, okay orange body. Hoppy aroma with plenty of malt, balanced kinda, not exciting but at least it’s there. Flavour is plenty of hops with amber cherry notes of malts on the back end. Missing a bit of sharpness that one might expect from an APA. Almost like a fruity ester thang goin on. Not sure if I like it as much as Life cereal.

650mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is dry and crisp, with dry crackery malt and light piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with gentle piney hops and dry crackery malt in good balance. Nothing overly special, but it's well-balanced. Very good.

Bottle. dark golden, fine carbonation, big lacing foamy head. Light minerally caramel/crystal malt nose with slightly earthy and herbal hops. Medium light body, mellow chewy mouthfeel. Sparkly dry on the palate. ESB with a very light modern world touch.

Draught @ Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival 2014, Vancouver, BC

Quite malty and stuffy for an APA, feels more like an English pale ale. Smooth, slightly watery and crisp bitterness. A bit boring.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear, orangey yellow with minimal off-white head. Aroma of mild citrus hops and mild sweet malt. Taste same, quite mild, a little watery.

Pours clear gold with good head and lacing. Some light bitterness. Some hops and malt - nice session beer ok for drinking. Some piny aroma in the hops. On tap at brewery.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with medium head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of light grapefruit, pine, and malt. Flavor is very much the same with the addition of dusty grass/hay. Light bitter finish. Very well balanced. Clean and easy to drink.
