The one that started it all. This Belgian wit was the first beer to ever come out of our kettles as brewing professionals. Despite it being a ‘safe’ and logical choice for a beginning brewer, Struise Witte is anything but boring.

With big notes of wheat and citrus, this beer provides you with a refreshing drinking experience.

Bottle at home. Aroma of tart citrus, zesty lemon, wheat, light malt, hay, yeast, some spicy notes. Flavour is light sour with a hint of sweetness. Body is light to medium. Not spectacular, but I enjoyed this Witbier. A notch above average for the style.

16 February 2020. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Pours hazy yellow with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of wheat, bread, flour even, yeast, apple peel, pear, unripe banana. Taste has sweetish apple & pear, low estery banana profile, breadiness linking it to spicy coriander & sourish wheat. Dryish, sour, wheaty finish, grassy hops & dried apple. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Nothing really noteable as a Struise brew but you can't go wrong with it.

0,75l bottle (vintage 2017, bottled 2 JAN 2018, BBF: 1 JAN 2021) from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: thin, white, not long lasting. C: gold, almost clear to hazy with yeasty debris after pouring from the bottom of the bottle. A: malty, mellow fruity, bit caramel, spicy, orange peels, hint of oxidized tones. T: medium malty base, citrus peels, spicy, bit caramel, wheat is almost not noticeable, lower carbonation, for 2017 vintage still quite refreshing so enjoyed.
