Draft - That dirty French yeast not I really dislike. Clear Amber with a rich beige head. As it smells, earthy and light Woody with a sweet note. Not to my taste.

Draught at Callister, Vancouver
Amber color, cloudy, with compact beige head. That aroma is what I define as dusty, I’m not excited by that; a bit of banana esters. Mild caramel flavor, mild residual sweetness, a bit dusty and earthy again, banana (for scale). Doesn’t strike as a Saison, no real quality in the yeast, no real quality in the dark malts.
I’m not saying it’s bad, but What’s the point?

On tap at Callister, pours a fairly clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a nice mix of dry toasted caramel, earthy Belgian yeast, and crusty rye bread. Flavour is quite complex, with earthy notes, crusty rye bread, Belgian yeast and dry toasted caramel all in great harmony. Every element adds nicely to the whole, creating quite the complex dark saison. Excellent.

On tap Callister. Pours a dark copper with a tan head. Aroma is floral, fruity, roasted malt. Same character taste and aftertaste with caramel notes. Very nice.
