A true smooth and creamy stout with a sweet difference. The chocolate flavours are balanced by the addition of vanilla extract.

330ml bottle. Pours black with a small head. Aroma is milk chocolate and vanilla, a touch on the artificial side. Taste is quite artifical, with chocolate to start and vanilla on the finish.

Near opaque, dark brown with a thick off white head. Smells malty with a little chocolate. Flavour follows suit. Toasty malt, a bit of sweet milk chocolate, vanilla. Big malty finish with a little hop. Medium body. Very drinkable.

Bottle thanks to my step dad. Pours clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate and vanilla, as expected. Sweet taste. Sweet finish.

Cask at the Dog, Burton on Trent – but have had it several times before in the past. Pours almost black with a small cream head and good lacing. Chocolate and cocoa to the fore in thew aroma, plus some traces of honey. In the mouth it is smooth with a creamy texture. Not surprisingly the main flavours are vanilla and chocolate plus some roasted malts. Finish is quite bitter. Very nice indeed – well balanced.

Near black with a beige head, and a big vanilla aroma. The mouthfeel is on the thin side, and there is again plenty of vanilla going on in the taste, alongside a hint of the promised chocolate, and nicely roasted malt, the finish is on the dry bitter side with prevailing vanilla

Cask at Bree Louise. Very dark brown colour with small beige creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, cream. Taste is similar, chocolate, vanilla. Very smooth. Very tasty, but couldn't help feel it was a bit one-dimensional. --- Beer merged from original tick of Chocolate & Vanilla Stout on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.
