Draught pint at Tønne, Leicester. Can't believe I've never had this before. Almost black with only a sliver of light getting through and a small beige/khaki head. Ashy aroma, a good bit of roast malt and touches of liquorice. Bittersweet taste, more liquorice in the mouth than in the nose. Very dry finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Guinness is the famous one but maybe just maybe this is closer to the bone.

Shocked not to have gotten to this one. Glad to be able to do it here in County Cork. On nitro at Geary’s 1780 in Charleville, County Cork. Jet black pour. Creamy tan head. Faint roasted malt nose. Smooth roasted malt flavor. Dark coffee, dark chocolate and bitter hops.

Sort med fyldig lys brun topp som varer lenge. Aroma; malt, kaffe, mørk sirup, humle, lyng. Smak; malt, karamell, sjokolade, kaffegrut. Sterk men kort smak, og litt..uvariert til å være så mørk. #smakt 20.juni.

Finally had this... Keg at Wenlock Arms. Aroma has vague... wrm.. clay. Dark. V. Dark. Thick foamy off-white head. Slips down by virtue of some sourness (bweries) and creaminess. Medium bodied. Slick to oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Another flavourless macro stout... actually need to try again ut think I preferred the G one.

One of those beers I'm surprised I have not rated yet. Pour is a black with a thin tan head. Aroma is a nice roast and bitter bakers chocolate. Flavor is a decent char with some wet paper bag. It has a creamy mouthfeel and leaves some of that bitterness on the tongue. Pretty good Irish stout that is maybe a little more flavorful than Guinness.

Pint at Murphy's Irish pub at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, which, for whatever reason, is not listed here (and for whatever reason RB won't let me list it, though I'm a premium member.) A clean, jet black pour with a thick, surely lacing, nitro-laden tan head. Aroma is chicory, licorice, tobacco, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt toast, cola jelly beans. Dry, a tad watery, refreshing despite its being utterly bitter. Long-lasting finish with more charcoal and roasty tinges.
