The fourth beer in our small batch series combines the darkness of outer space with the explosive flavour of rich local hops.
Although the appearance is dark, this beer lacks the strong flavour of roasted malt.
A healthy dose of kettle and dry hops dominate the palate of Planet Nine. The search is over!

Bottle - Roasty, caramel and some plain drip coffee. Dirty brown with a small beige head. Sour, light toast and toast with an odd finish. Not right.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color, small head. Some aroma of caramel, a bit earthy. Terrible flavor, dirt water, sour, infected; some roasted malts and not enough hops, for what is worth now.
Very bad.

650ml bottle bought at Lucky’s LS in Nanaimo, at Matt’s place. Aroma is slightly hoppy, raw, sour. Taste is sour, hoppy bitter. Same aftertaste. Infected?

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted earthy malt and herbal notes. Flavour seems infected, with toasted malt, some earth and infected sourness. Undrinkable mess. Drain pour.
