Rye Munich Ale: A Most Distinguished Efferyescent Potable of Total Consciousness
An experimental ale brewed with rye and Munich malt, fermented with the Weihenstephan yeast strain, giving it elements of a German wheat beer. A deep golden color with a shy white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma has a zing of fresh ginger mixed with hints of spice and faint banana fragrances, alluding to the complexity of this unassuming ale. The flavor is sharp and crisp, laced with snappy ginger, spice, and citrus fruit qualities. Although refreshing overall, the intricate blend of flavors seem to linger on the palate, similar to the bitterness of hops.

Bottle. Poured a near clear amber with a thick creamy head that lasted. Aroma was a combination rye and ginger with the ginger with taking the backseat. Flavor began with smooth rye and a bit of a grassy undertone with the ginger growing towards the finish.

courtesy of the Shorts tasting night group. Pours hazy golden/orange straw with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor are primarily of good ginger spices with thick rye overtones and some thin hints of yeast adding to the haze of the beer. One of the best ginger beer out there, especially considering that all these bottles are from early β07.

Bottled (Pikkulintu, 0,75 ltr). Clear amber color, small white head. Ginger, lemon in the nose. Light palate (for 7.8 % beer). Ginger dominates the flavor, some sweet citrus. Christmas-likey, a bit too simple ginger flavored.

Bottled@Konttori, Tampere. Amber colour with mediumsized big white foamy head. Aroma is some grassy and fruity hops with spices, some mild gingery notes. Flavour is spicy, fruity and also quite yeasty. Yet another Shorts that is quite strange, but yet balanced and drinkable.
