Announcing the coming of summer, Summer from Hornbeer is a bit moody – just like the traditional Danish summer. You may think you will be served a plain light beer but then you discover that Summer has a taste of elderflower, honey, citrus, hops and spices. Summer is brewed with elderflower extract, giving it some natural acidity, which helps to make it extra fresh. The beer style is mostly that of a "Belgian witbier”. Summer can be an exciting welcome drink, used with light dishes, shared together with your neighbour on the terrace, on a boat or just when you want something refreshing. Ideally served chilled between 4-6 degrees in a tall glass.

Bottle, at KØ-10. An unclear, yellow pour yields an off-white head. The aroma has pale malts and citrus, cloves do the spice-part, some yeasty notes too. Banana, grains and some spices in the flavor, dry, medium body. Spiced finish with oranges. Definately not my kind of summer beer, and far from the best from Hornbeer. I certainly prefer their bigger beers. 100506

Slightly leaked bottle, but opened with strong "whizzzzz"! Ugly murky yellow color, vanishing white head. Typical witbier aroma with orange peels, white pepper, fruity yeast and elderflower (hyldeblomst). Flavor as well: orange peels, some spices and instead of coriander elderflower. Foamy and crisp carbonation makes this brew quite refreshing.

Re-rating. On tap at Kick, Kristiansand. Hazy orange body with a moderate sized off-white head. Mild fruity aroma with some malt. Flavor is light malty, fruity and moderate bitter. Medium body and medium aftertaste. Drinkable but quite plane and safe.

Huge head, at first time a got only foam to my glass. Second time and a glass was half of light yellow beer and other half of white head. Aroma is freshly and lemon, wheat, spicy and coriander. Sour lemon and wheat, some spices in the flavour and some mustyness in the aftertaste. Easy to drink with lot of carbonation. Unbalanced witbeer with mustyness that is not typical witbier, otherwise typical elements are found.

(Bottle from K Supermarket Kamppi) Neraly a gusher. Poured yellow and cloudy. Head was large and fizzy. Aroma contained coriander and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were coriander, fruitiness, saltiness, citricness, hops, malts and bitterness. Afertaste was spicy and bitter.
