Announcing the coming of summer, Summer from Hornbeer is a bit moody – just like the traditional Danish summer. You may think you will be served a plain light beer but then you discover that Summer has a taste of elderflower, honey, citrus, hops and spices. Summer is brewed with elderflower extract, giving it some natural acidity, which helps to make it extra fresh. The beer style is mostly that of a "Belgian witbier”. Summer can be an exciting welcome drink, used with light dishes, shared together with your neighbour on the terrace, on a boat or just when you want something refreshing. Ideally served chilled between 4-6 degrees in a tall glass.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Cloudy yellow colour,. Light malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Nice citr us notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Fruity fresh citrus notes. Average moderate bitter fnish. Oily palate.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour with a small white sparkling bubbly head. Aroma is wheat, some mild acidic wood, spices and quite much zest. Flavour is wheat citrus fruits, some spices, mild acidic wooden notes as well as some slight zestyness. Biting carbonation. Quite smooth.

Draft @ Green Lion Inn, Malmö. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a small longlasting white head. Has a fruity wheaty spicy citrus aroma. Sweetish wheat malty spicy citrus flavor. Has a sweetish wheat malty finish with hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

Extremely glass-clinging yeast in the bottle, until pouring, when the beer converts itself instananeously into off-white foam, and the yeast converts to a load of UFO’s of all sizes in the straw-yellow liquid, eventually emerging. Faintly spicy, faintly wheaty aromas - the towering head doesn’t help sniffing. Once the head’s collapsed, the smell is actually pungent, but not unnice, with still citrus, wheat and spices. Fruity, faint spicy with grain flavours. Just a hint of sweetness. Extremely fizzy carbonation; bit sharp, but the beer itself is nearly velvety. Credible, not overspiced wit. Well-worth, but I still crave cranberry bastard...

Bottled. An unclear yellow beer with a huge, but collapsing, white head. The aroma has notes of coriander, wheat, and lemon. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of lemon as well as medium notes of wheat and lemon, leading to a dry lemony finish.

Botle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a cloudy yellow with an almost aggresively frothy rough, white head - really an extreme carbonation. Loads of coriander and yeast in the nose. Light body, heavy carbonation, fruit, citrus, yeast and coriander. A decent drinker but the massive carbonation is a turnoff. 100810
