On tap at Stadsbrouwhuis Leiden. Clear red orange colour lasting beige head. Sweetish. Toffee. Bocky flavour. It’s like the 3 Brand beers ive had this evening all clean competent and lacking any faults and even with a little character. Fine.

Bottle at the Nieuwe Morsch, Leiden. Poured a clear medium amber with thin broken white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a fruity metallic hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap @café Koosje, Amsterdam. Deep amber colour, clear, small stable frothy off-white head, good lacing. Aroma roasted malt, dough, caramel. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, roasted malts, caramel. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, well-balanced, good long bittersweet finish, very nice.

Draft glass @ some Holiday Inn in Amsterdam post work presentations. Clear darker amber with an off-white head. Nose is massively metallic, industrial & thin, herbal thin industrial burned caramel affair. Taste is the same, massively industrial thin herbal metallic caramel, processed to death. Thin, industrial caramel body. Promotion material proclaims this to be the oldest specialty beer of the Netherlands, marketing rubbish in the way that this tastes purely like a modern industrial affair. I actually enjoyed the Heineken that I had after this one more to my surprise.

0.3 l bottle from local ’Gall & Gall’, best before June 2016. Clear, copper with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and grains. Sweet, malty taste of honey, caramel and grains, followed by a medium long, dusty, slightly warming, medium bitter finish. Medium to full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite tasty, thick and creamy, only a bit boring. Nice!
