Why is this labeled a bock? It’s more like a malty amber beer. Quite boring actually.

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Mitra.nl. Deep amber colour with an off-white head. Strong malty aroma. Caramel taste with some lightly roasted malts. Good long bitter aftertaste.

Brown 30cl bottle, best before the end of Sept 2010, drank and reviewed on 14th Sept 2010. Obtained in Valkenburg, Holland. Poured into a vase shaped ’Paderborner Gold Pilsner’ flute. Good amber body with an impressive looking tan coloured foaming head. Some good lacing remained as the head retreated to a collar and the beer level dropped. Malt molasses dominate the nose, some alcohol hints too. Fairly sweet up front, those aforementioned molasses being the main culprits. The alcohol doesn’t hide though and as the mouth dries the 6.5% really comes at you. Only a slight hop presence could I detect, the malty sweetness overpowering whatever hops were in the brew. Body a little on the thin side, which is why the alcohol can be detected so easily. Is it as good as those Munich beers that all end with ’ator’? Not far off in my opinion.

Van tap. Zoet, maltig, honing, wat scherp, licht klef. Ook bitterig en kruidig. Apart. (11-2011).

Nice clear sort of amber colored beer. The rest was pretty average. No weird things, just a decent but ordinary beer.

Just an average beer. Not really special. Easy to drink and easy to forget.
