Bottle from Mitra, where they are still sold, #1702, large sample. Slight hazy brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of caramel, raisin, chocolate, slight earthy hop, cookie, biscuit, slight hint of coffee even. Medium sweet in taste, slight bitter. Already a couple years old now, but it has matured wonderfully. Great big sipper.

2 litre bottle @ Bart, shared with Bart en Rick, bougth @ Mitra. Pours muddy dark brown with no head. Intense malty nose with spices. Spicy taste with alcohol warmth and hops. No carbonation whatsoever. I don’t know if this was intended or if the bottle I had was spoiled but a little CO2 would have lifted the taste to a higher level. Long bittersweet aftertaste. A bit of a dissapointment to be honest.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest. Dark amber brown colour, off white head. Aroma of sweet bready malts, caramel, toffee, light hops. Flavour is sweet, very malty, caramel, light floral, bready, nice bitterness underneath, ending bitter. Fullbodied, slick, really nice.

Hazy amber-brown body with an off-white head. Aroma of caramalts, wine, grapes, elderberry, bit alcohol - quite ok. Moderately sweet flavour. Nice, warming, quite well balanced, tad alcoholic.
