Der frische Antrunk wird schnell durch die aufkommende Malzigkeit aufgehoben. Dabei sit das Malz vollmundig aber weniger intensiv als gedacht. Erstaunlich frisch, im Abgang Schokolade, milder Kaffee. 7/11/12/11//12

Pitch black, opague colour with an off-white head. Little to no smell, even after warming.. Some chocolate in the smell at most. Tastes chocolate and roasty - but lacking a bit in taste also. Little carbo, medium body.

Draught @ Borefts Bier Festival 2011, Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands.Dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt. Aroma is quit weak .. or not impressiv. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, light sweet vanilla - chocolate, thin. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110923]

Smell roastyness, coffee, caramel. Taste roasty, alcohol, coffee and some chocolate I think. Medium carbonation that suits the beer, full body.

Tap @ Borefts Beer Festival, 2011. Pours black with a small head and lacings. Dark fruit, roast, coffee, oak and vanilla. Mellow, smooth and sippable. Nice.

Had this at Boreft Beer Festival, De Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands, 24.09.11 Black as a grimping mire, no head, its like a black hole. Not much of a nose, cracking smoothness, its silky, its dry at end and there is a generous lacing of chocolate throughout, but you know as decent as this is its up against some serious stuff here and it just might of been found out, especially alongside the Thornbridge Courage IRS. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Draft at BBF 2011, courtesy of urbeer. Thanks! Pours very black, two bubble gravity head. Aroma od burnt espresso and dark cocoa. Taste has vanilla, dates, chocolate. Nice.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with no head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Chocolate, breadish and roasted. Sweet, breadish and chocolate bitter. Ends dry and bitter. Malty and chocolate finish.
