Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate licorice aroma. Roasted malty smooth chocolate and licorice flavor with hints of caramel and toffee. Has a roasted malty chocoalte and licorice finish. with hints of caramel.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque black with a light brown head. Sweet roasty nose, lots of raisins up there too, almost rummy. Solid body, sweet roast, but the dark dried fruits dominate, lots of dark chocolate - even marzipan and cherry, all stuff you wouldn’t really expect in an Imperial Stout. But this is....different. Roasty finish with quite some warming alcohol. Very enjoyable. 030312

Bottle from Struisse beer shop. Black pour with brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts and wood. Sweet dark chocolate flavour with a little caramel and alcohol in the finish. Thick oily mouthfeel. Great beer.

rating #4000 in style. 33bottle from Struise biershop in Brugge. Couleur brune foncée sur des tons cuivre, col épais moka laissant sur les rebords du verre un filament huileux. Arôme est complexe alliant un malt caramel, chocolat en poudre et biscuité avec un grains d’avoine et note de barrique de Porto couvert par des fruits noirs. En bouche, palais épais aux flocons d’avoine, malt couvre le palais laissant la place à des notes de chocolat noir, caramel, sorte de purée de cacao. Je note aussi un profile de feuilles de tabac pour un aspect fumé mais discret sur le palais, le tout est épais et sur la fin une note de houblon épicé et de levure vient mettre tout cela en valeur. A noter aussi, la barrique de Porto qui donne un profile fruité noir restant un peu trop discret. Cela contribue à un côté doux/sucré de vin de Porto qui suit sur le palais. Pas mauvaise, mais loin d’être ma préférée des stouts de chez Struise. A voir comment elle évolue avec l’age.
