A reworking of their ESB to get one closer to the standard. Dark orange body with lasting white head. Malt aroma with spice. Malty taste with a hop edge and streak. The bitterness is there and this is a great example of an English ESB. Plan to have another the next time I'm there.

Another one of those beers that can fall into two categories. The brewery calls it a bitter, and it definitely has bitter characteristics. Light hoppiness in the malt body. Amber colour with a thin white head. Light malty aroma,. Doesn’t stand up to spicy foods, but would be good with fish and chips or bangers and mashed aardapels

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Hazy amber color. A bit bready and cereally, good job with the malts, and the resiny hops are not bad too. Delicate and balanced. Not an ESB, but still a very good beer. A lot of character.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out subtle notes of bready malt and English hops. Flavour is smooth, with loads of crusty rye bread and gentle English hopping. Really nicely constructed for the style. Very drinkable.

Draft - Light citrus and pale malts. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains and light bitterness with a touch of sweetness. Grainy, but nice.

On tap at breakside Portland. Pours out a burnt orange topped with a small head. Nose is lots of bread malts some wood and grain. Taste is more of the grain bread malts and some fruity sweetness.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange copper with small off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is toasted grain and wet biscuit. Medium mouth, bready malt, light grain, good.
