Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Dark brown color, small head. Some malt aroma; I get more apples, rather than smoke; eventually, some smoke and pepper. Moderate body strength; I don’t fancy very much this malt flavor, not deep, and it has some anise and liquorice hint; mild smoke; warming alcohol, but not boozy.
Decent beer, grossly overpriced (16$).

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out a nice fragrance of the lapsang souchong tea, followed by boozy cognac notes, wood and alcohol. Flavour is quite complex, with lightly smoky tea, cognac, dark fruits and wood. One of the best gluten free beers out there. A little harsh and jagged, but quite a nice sipper.

Bottle - Light smokey plum and wood notes. Deep murky brown with a light brown head. Light smoke, sweet dark fruit and barrel notes. Sweet, light soured fruit and too much.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel with dark fruits, light smokey notes, dark fruits, very nice. In mouth, a nice whiskey like offering with light woody maple, dark fruits, light smokey notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at L’autre oeil.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty brown color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light rum notes with some caramelized malt notes is pretty interesting. Taste is a nice mix of caramel malt with some rum notes, limited residual sugar with some oak notes and light tea flavours are also noticeable. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Quiet enjoyable beer and something that hopefully will be part of their regular portfolio.

Belle surprise!! Quoique un peu trop sur le côté rhum, c’est un délice. Le foie de veau flambé lui allait à merveille en tout cas! Je vais faire des réserves, moi qui déteste le thé, c’est bon signe...
