Bottle at KØ16. Yeasty bubble gum aroma. Good teaish hop flavour with a mild bubble gum note. Good hop burn in the finish. Tastes like a good Hopfenweisse.

Hazy amber, big fluffy white head. Juicy hop aroma, mango and passionfruit. Next sniff brings some good funky notes. Flavour is sweet with fruity hops, caramel, slightly sour and funky brett with a little spice. Bitterness gets a little too rough.

Hazy, amber-orange colored, medium creamy white lasting head with nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, fruity, spicy and peppery. Taste is medium sweet caramalt, fruits, some orange, strong spicy-peppery aroma with medium bitterness, dry finish, bit Belgian yeasty, lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Belgian style IPA, bought at Fontana in Sint-Niklaas (to my utmost surprise, I might add). This is the beer Clown Shoes apparently had some problems with due to its suggestive label. Creamy and very dense, egg-white, thick head leaving thick velvety lacing on the edge of the glass, colour is a warm and deep orange blonde turning hazy and more amberish with deposit, with lively fizz. Lovely dank IPA aroma of blood orange, pink grapefruit flesh, pine woods or even pine-scented air freshener, bell pepper, tangerine, mango, white pepper, lime blossom, chicken spices, stale sweat, freshly toasted bread, gingerbread, minerals, dry straw. Crisp, fruity onset of pink grapefruit, redcurrant and pineapple with a very vague banana accent, minerally and medium sharp carbonation, lovely malt sweetness underneath with bready and even cake-like properties, supple and lean, with a hoppy finish well in balance with the malts, very fragrant retronasally with citrusy, tropical and lightly piney features as well as sufficient bittering and drying force, yet remaining relatively mild and gentle, with a lot of the juicy, bready malt sweetness coming through in the end - though a deep and very long quinine- and pepper-like bitterness does stick to the root of the tongue afterwards. Seems a tad fruitier than your average American style IPA and is clearly refermented in the bottle, I assume this is the ’Belgian’ aspect of it, and another strong argument for recognition of the ’Belgian IPA’ substyle like our colleagues at Beeradvocate do. Whatever the case, this is still very American, and very tasty indeed. Nice work - and needless to say, I’m a big fan of the label...

35cl Bottle from Secret Sint, thanks! Hazy golden orange colour, off-white head. Aroma of sweet Belgian yeast, oranges, orange peel, very fruity, light sweaty, sweet. Flavour is medium sweet, oranges, yeasty, fruity, hoppy, bitter finish with oranges. Light to medium bodied. OK, not exactly what I like though.

bottle thnx to Filip from Het Nest brewery. Pours dark yellow, small white head. Smell is tropical fruited, hopped, bitter. Sweet, some honeynotes as well as fruity aspects.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, medium to full sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, resinous hops. Taste malts, hops, resinous hops, bitter hops, slightly fruitpeel. Medium body, average carbonation.
