Keg at Beaverex '18 Day II, 08/09/18. Black with a decent tan covering that clears to edgework. Nose is dark fruits, cocoa sprinkle, brown bread, light ashen notes. Taste comprises fruit slice, brown sugar, dusty fruits, toffee, light charred effect. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent for the style.

Tap at the tasting room. Pours dark chocolate brown with a beige head that’s creamy. Aroma of chocolate and roasty/toasty malts. Med body. Flavor is moderate chocolate, roasty/toasty malt, and a flavor lurking in the background that makes me think herbaceous. Clearly a schwarzbier.
