50cl bottle. Pours an opaque coffee colour with a decent head. The nose is chocolatey with a slight burnt coffee note. The taste is more of the same but the coffee is dominant this time. The palate is good - nice texture after a medium sized body and then cleans ok. Overall, yep another great reproduction of a style by Nogne. Is there any style they can’t do?

50 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. #586: brygget 010211, BBE 010214
Sourish aroma has some belgian yeast, caramel, sugar and weak signals of contamination. Palate has lonts of carbonation hitting my tongue. Flavour is sourish with caramel and sugar. Some hints of contamination also here, but it does not disturb very much. Hard to decide if this is contaminated or is the sourness made in purpose. However, this was disappointment from Nøgne.

4oz pour at Max’s Rare and Obscure Beer Week Part 4. Pours a hazy, amber brown with a thin, white head. Nose is lightly sweet, a little sweaty. Flavor is herbal, lightly sweet, lightly malty, not at all sour. Medium bodied, lightly sweet finish. Exceptionally bland from start to finish.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of candi sugar and dark caramel malt with light dry raisins. Taste is a nice mix between some candi sugars with dark Belgian malt with light fruity ester with dry raisins notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and some good lacing. Very well brewed and more complex then I had anticipated.
