Passchendaele werd gelanceerd naar aanleiding van de 100e verjaardag van de Eerste Wereldoorlog en meer specifiek ter herdenking van de Slag bij Passendale in juli 1917. De brouwerij vraagt per flesje een minuut stilte ter nagedachtenis aan de gesneuvelden tijdens de Grote Oorlog. Een deel van de opbrengst wordt aan de gemeente Zonnebeke geschonken, om bij te dragen aan het onderhoud van haar oorlogsmonumenten

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is pale malt with yeasty notes, light fruity and floral-ish. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is light. Bit bland and weak.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Clear golden coloured brew with an very faint dry bitternesh, keep tasting for it. Nice to drink a beer that remember one of the bloodiest battles of all time.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is some cardboard, lemony, not so gingery... Taste is the same, not very refreshing and a bit cloying almost. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Not great, this really is a mediocre Radler at full beer strength.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Cookies and soft vinous notes in the aroma. Malty, dusty, almost vinous flavor. Grapes and citrus. Floral notes. Disappointing.

Bottle. Clear golden ale with moderate white well lacing head. Sweetish malty aroma with spicy yeastiness along. Light to medium body. Medium sweet malty taste with spicy accents. Light bitterness. Nothing special but it fits my liking.
