Bottle at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Pours a hazy, pale orange colour. Aroma of fruit, and fresh hops. Very smooth and very very drinkable notwithstanding its 10% ABV. Good body, slightly sticky texture, minimal carbonation. Rather heavy in its sweetness, but that did not detract from its quality or my enjoyment of what I thought was a very good beer.

Tasting at Bruce’ s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Hazy dark amber beer with a good bubbly off white head. Mild piney nose. Light smooth palate with fine carbonation. Sweet malts, thin but creamy and bringing mild toffee. Piney hops with light hop spice. Little tropical fruits. Some aniseed alcohol showing. Finishes smooth with a bitterish piney fruity linger. Not bad at all.

Bottle from Leighton at Colin’s 5K. It pours hazy deep amber with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is stewed orange, tangerine, mango, candy, booze and wood. The taste is bitter-sweet, wood, earth, orange, mango, juicy fruits, toast, spice, sherbet, chewy malt and some alcohol warmth. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit heavy, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, thanks once to Leighton - he never stops a ratin’ - for this one, 13/11/13. Hazed dark amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is sweet, orange, light pine, candied sugars, pineapple, pear juice. Taste comprises earthy hops, grapefruit, sugars, sweet caramel sauce, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with semi aggressive hop bitterness coming into play. Ok - a little rough around the edges and overly sweet, needs a few subtle tweaks and it could become a 3.6/7.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - I got this one from The Internet. Pours unclear amber with a frothy, off-white head. Nose holds dirty hops, dry bread, ripe citrus, orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with punchy alcohol, ripe citrus fruits, pretty juicy, dirty pine, melon, sweet brown bread. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm and lightly resinous to finish, so toasted grass, filthy pine, dirt, bitter orange rind, mango. Decent. Hefty.

Keg at Lady Grey’s, Newcastle. Wow. Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Ripe fruit, vanilla, creamy aromas. Big tropical fruits aromas and taste, with caramel sweetness too. Sticky and creamy texture, but a clean crisp finish. Lovely. Dangerously lovely. Nice dessert beer.
