Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Ansjelaah. Clear dark orange to reddish color, medium off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, hops, a bit sweaty unfortunately. Taste malts, hops, some fruityness, lightly resinous, decently bitter. Sticky texture, medium body and carbonation. Too bad the aroma has that sweatyness. [4-4-8-4-13] -- Re-rate August 2014: Tap @ Crate Brewery. Slightly unclear dark orange color, small off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty and quite strongly hops. Taste malts, hops, pine, resin, bitter. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Lovely.

Bottle @ joes. Hazy amber colour with a small white head. Smells hops, pine, resin, sweet, fruity. Tastes sweet, hops, pine, resin, bitter, grassy, fruity. Medium body, soft to medium carbo.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Hazy, reddy amber. Bubbly, thin, sticky, lasting, white head. Been after this for a while, and I’m not sure this is the freshest of bottles, but nevertheless, I reckon it’s not the subtlest of beers in the first place. Juicy. Boozy. Toffee sweet. Light, peppery spice. Taste and palate are thick, chewy, oily and sweet. Then the bitterness kicks in. It’s fruity, as opposed to acidic. I was in the mood for a big beer, and this did the business.

Cask (Newcastle Beer Festival 2014) - Copper in colour. Pine, toffee and dried apricot in the aroma. Tangy, hoppy and malty taste with grapefruit, pine and raisins detected.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham purchased Friday 4th April 2014 consumed at home Sunday 6th April 2014 Puddly dark amber colour with a white rim, sweet but hoppy aroma, malty but clearly a hop monster. Hugely bitter in the mouth with a real hoppy burn, but big alcohol impact as well, tangy, bitter this is a monster, what a big beer. Much like a big American IPA this really takes you by the scruff of the neck love it. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; deep hazy copper pour with big off white foamy head, grapefruit and tangerine aroma, taste is piney with caramel sweetness, grapefruit a hint of citrus fruit, decent level of bitterness, very good.

330ml bottle from Glug, Newcastle. Wow. What an apt name for a beer - almost took my head off. Pours mahogany reddish brown, huge abrasive bitter flavours with a teasing sweetness. Concentrated toffee and orange peel appear mirage-like before the bitterness takes over once more, bombarding you alongside a heavy ABV.

330ml bottle. Murky, reddish brown colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Resinous and citrusy hop aroma, notes of blood orange, grapefruit. Taste is bitter hoppy, resinous, notes of blood orange, grapefruit and the like, moderately sweet caramel malty backbone; lasting bitter finish, oily texture. Excellent!
