Bottle at Craft Islington - massive thanks to Kenny! It pours darkest brown with a medium dark beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sticky, rich, cavlados, apple pie vanilla. must, oiliness and wood. The taste is slick, oily, juicy, sticky, apple pie, jammy fruits, plum, date, prune, grape, earth, wood, touch of umami and earth with a slick finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Great depth of flavour and very well balanced. Great stuff!

660ml bottle. Quasi black colour with late awakening, small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Nuttily, chocolately, roasty dark malty and fruity aroma, a cautious touch of hootch (probably due to the Cider Brandy). Taste is slightly sweet chocolately malty, hints of leather, ever increasing nutty and nougat notes, some treacle, mildly tart fruit acid counterweight. Rich and complex, diversified.

Shared 660 ml bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour, nearly black, minimal tan head. Vinous aroma, notes of oak, hints of cider and calvados. Mild roasty notes in the background. Minimal carbonation. Warming mouthfeel. Very oaky flavour, roasty chocolate notes with hints of cider and calvados. Nice, but a little more carbonation would be an advantage.
