The taste is slightly tart but also fruity and round which makes this Quetsche à l’ancienne may be more accessible for non-experts or less sophisticated palates. It also has a slight dryness from the skin of the plums. The nose perceives a plum brandy perfume.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky orange. White head. Nose - tart, funk and wood up front, rather than any plum. Some stewed fruit is detectable in the background. Taste -some sweet plum this time, but cleansed off the palate completely with tart acidity. Palate - tart and very sour with some fruit sweetness in the middle section mainly. Medium bodied. Overall - genuine Lambic face implosion!

Bottle at Weathered 2022. Hazy gold with small white head. Plum, light funk, touch of wood, balanced, quite nice.
Very acidic. But lovely as always.
