750 ml bottle into signature chalice, best before 8/24/2013. Pours hazy golden orange color with a nice 1-2 finger fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big lemon, banana, clove, pepper, bubblegum, wheat, bread, herbal, coriander, earth, orange zest, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity. Taste of lemon, banana, pepper, clove, bubblegum, earth, wheat, bread, coriander, herbal, orange zest, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of citrus, banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat, bread, pepper, earth, herbal, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Insane balance and complexity of flavors; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium high carbonation and medium body; with a fairly creamy, chalky, and prickly mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with nearly zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a world class witbier. Insane flavor balance and complexity; very smooth and crisp to drink. This is the best I have had in the style hands down.

750 c&c from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours cloudy dark gold with a transient white head. Citrus and spice aromas. Near med body. Flavor is spicy, heavy, with orange zest. A lot more substantial than most wits. Finishes spicy and nearly dry.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy orangey yellow with a large white head. Aroma is full of banana and clove, with some more subtle wheat notes underneath. Flavour is quite full-flavoured with loads of banana, clove and wheat. Not usual for a wit, more like a German hef with the dominant banana notes. Surprisingly full-bodied for the style. One of the best wits I've had. Excellent.

Draught at the Tokyo Brasserie. Yeasty, doughy nose, light hop, worty and weird. Cloudy gold-yellow with a high, fine head. Very bready flavor, light citrus hop, honey, biscuit, wort and bread and dough again, but less than the nose. Not much happening here really, and seems under-cooked. I don’t get it.

Very soapy lemon nose, light wheat malt accents. Dingy golden, thick sticky white head. Coriander and meringue flavor, but not overly sweet. Thin, little body. Not a very well rounded wit. I love St Bernardus, but now that I think about it, I didn’t care for their regular wit either. I don’t think it is their strength.

C&C 750 mL bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a large frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of wheat, nutty notes and dry citrus. Faint spice. The taste is big spice, raisins, wheat, umami, citrus, caramel. Medium bodied, dry. Nice.

Split a 750ml bottle with friends. Poured a slightly hazy yellow-orange color with a large white foamy head. Aroma is orange, with notes of yeast and some spice. Sweet malts, yeast notes, with a touch of citrus in this. Pretty darn refreshing but a bit steep on the price.
