“Fresh Hop Strong IPA” The Brewers Gold hops that we used fresh, from Sodbuster Farms in the Willamette Valley, had a longer growing season, resulting in a more intense hop aroma and mouthfeel. Less fruity than its Red-headed cousin (see below) and a tad sweeter on the palate, the hop character in the KG delivers herbal notes, toward mint and oregano with a hint of the Jamaican highland. I and I approve.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out fresh piney hops above all, with just enough malt to back. Flavour brings out dry, fresh piney hops, a little citrus and just enough malt to back. Extremely fresh, full of dry piney hops without any residual sweetness. Delicious.

Draft at the brewpub. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and very grassy hoppy with medium notes of peaches. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of over ripe peaches, grassy hops, and peanuts. The finish is bitter.
