I don’t have a lot of experience with readers, it isn’t beer, but hopefully I can judge it fairly. Opaque brown orange like dirty orange juice, which I suppose it is. Nose of orange juice and bready malt, once again, of course. Taste heavy on the orange, with fizz. The malt sits on the back of the favour until the aftertaste then it sticks it’s landing with a lingering bitterness. Ya know, it’s not hitting the spot, but it’s me. For what it is though not bad.

(On tap at Bryden’s, Toronto, Sep 3 2014) Pours a very murky medium orange, like OJ really, with a small white head and no lace. Aroma is dominated by blood orange and fresh squeezed oranges, hint of grapefruit, lightly sweet but with a yeasty edge. On the palate, orange juice/soda (the better kind, orangina or San Pellegrino or the like), peach and grapefruit undertones, a little mineral from soda water, light powdery yeast and grain (wheat?) on the finish. Sweetish, but not cloyingly so. Soft mouthfeel with effervescent carb. Like a good soda with a beer in the background, very refreshing on a hot humid day. Much more drinkable than a cooler would be.
