Pours virtually black from the bottle. A creamy tan head lingers. Aroma is a mix of burnt grains, burnt coffee grounds, tobacco. Taste is mildly bitter at the outset, trends rapidly bitterer, full of coffee and charred grains. Body is thick with a carbonation about average for the style. Overall, not bad. Not a lot of complexity but a decent, traditional stout full of chocolate and strong burnt flavors.

500ml bottle. Black with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, tobacco smoke. Taste of roast malts, coffee, caramel, hint of dark fruits, chocolate and smoke, dry bitter finish. Light-medium body, very soft carbonation. Quite thin for a stout but otherwise not bad.

Bottle at Star Inn, Guildford. 16/11/17. Vague cheep choc aroma. Darkest brown. Thick beige head. Light bitter with a hint of sourness and some underlying sweetness. Like the aroma, the taste is of cheep chocolate, with berries and cardboard. Thin bodied. Relatively light. Fizzy carbonation. Abrupt finish. Double stout? Not even single, more like fat free. Super bland and light weight.

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Rocky, bubbly, two-finger thick, fawn-coloured head with fine retention. Crocheted lacework. Black as the polar night. Chocolate malty nose, nicely roasted. Dark malty flavours of chocolate, cocoa, dark bread and a developing touch of dark fruits. Nicely roasted bitter end. Medium boded. Smooth mouth feel. Enjoying. Bottle. Pours inky black with tall airy beige head. Good retention & lacing. Aroma: big roast & coffee, earth. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation. The taste is very dry. Smooth roastiness, coffee and solid floral and citrusy ending bitterness make it be a beautiful example of classic English stouts.
