”Jólners Dricka” är en mjölkporter, eller milk stout som det heter i ölvärlden, en 3,6 % dricka, som är det gamla namnet för alkoholsvag öl. Man känner väl till svagdricka.

Draught @ The Bishop Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm

Originally rated on 05.10.2012 - Pours pitch black bubbly head. Aroma of milk chocolate, hints of coffee and roasty malts. Taste is sweetish with lactic notes, milk chocolate, hops, roasty malts and coffee. Finish is sweetish with hints of roastiness, milk chocolate and lactic notes. A bit unbalanced, too milky and sweet for my taste.

On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige cap. Moderate chocolate nose, some light earth. Medium sweet flavor rife with bitter earth and sugary cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate dry dirt finish with toasty dark sugars and pleasant cocoa. Very tasty and drinkable. One of the best milk stouts of the festival.

Draft @ Borefts 2012. This is the Närke whey beer, I suppose - unlike the others this one is actually not bad. Black with some mocha head. Nose of sweet whey, more or less blended with chocolate, mocha and some lacto. Taste is sweet mocha, chocolate, whey is a bid blended in, sort of works, some of that instant cocoa powder that I found in the other whey beers as well, lactose, chocolate, somewhat bitter in the back. Body feels a bit like this instant powder was dissolved in here, a semi palatable and somewhat enjoyable whey beer in smaller quantities, this is actually not bad. 3.6% is a bit of a surprise as well. Optimal use of resources.

Cask at Borefts. Dark mahogany pour. No head and little lacing. Light malty aroma which is much more prominent in the flavour. Chocolate and liqourice notes are there too. A nice beer but there are many better examples. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gravity cask at Bishops Folkungagatan. Pours black with a big brown head. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, light and not a lot of taste but it dosn´t get thin despite the low abv. Very smooth mouthfeel and refreshing for a black beer.

Gravity cask @ BA Folkis. Pours black with a small off white head. Surprisingly powerfull aroma with notes of milk chocolate and coffee beans. Taste is somewhat porteresque with it’s milky sourness and coffee bean dryness. Notes of chocolate and caramel. Incredible light yet creamy mouthfeel! I would like a gravity cask filled with this beer in my kitchen...
