Named after Capella, a bright star in Auriga. The beer starts with sweet dark malt aromas followed by a nice medium body with chocolate and caramel flavors with a touch of roast. A collection of American hops (Nugget, Chinook, Centennial, and Cascade) brighten this lively porter.

Taster at CRB taproom. Black, small patchy head. This actually pales next to the CRB porter, much more subdued. Mild sweet and roasty notes , kind of light

Bottle. Dark pour with tan head. Malt, caramel and chocolate aroma. Chocolate body with a hop tinge that keeps it from getting too sweet.

Perfectly in-style for a stout. Medium body, medium roast, pretty much right in the middle for everything. Good. Ecliptic portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from the tap. Very dark brown with beige head. Light roasted malt with mild toasted nuts and feint hint of chocolate. Light, simple. Nothing to write home about, but won’t disappoint either.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color, almost black, a medium to tan head. A toasty caramel nose. The flavor is caramel, toast, toffee, light roast. Smooth, very good brew.

Pretty good brew but seems to be more of a stout than a porter to me. Brown black color with a thick tan long lasting head and lots of lace. Aroma’s mainly dark malt and roasted barley. Flavor’s like nose, balanced and very easy drinking. Clean, pleasant finish.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, sweet chocolate malt with light vanilla notes, licorice touches, very nice.

Dark. Full bodied. Medium roasted malt, chocolate, earthy. Finish has a bit of roast and bitterness. A bit more stout than porter but a tasty beer regardless.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver
Dark brown color, near black. Aroma of coffee, some dark malts. The low carbonation highlights the very mild residual sweetness, and helps the dark caramel flavor, with infinitesimal traces of dark chocolate, and almost no roastiness. A bit watery in the final, with some roasted nuts.
Pleasant. Easy.
