0.5l pours a deep deep brown near black body with a small off-white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with some licorice and a hints of leather. Body medium to full and the carbonation is medium. Flavors are quite sweet, licorice, roasted malts, slightly salty with notes of minerals and coffee. Ends in a slightly sweet and dark-fruity finish and a nice chocolate aftertaste.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Brown colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Nice chocolate notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

New Beer Distributors 500ml ($2.25): Pours a nearly black color with minimal brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts, a whole lot of molasses, and fruity sugars. Taste is rather sweet. Hops and roasted malts make their presence felt primarily around the finish. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy, but not excessively. Chocolate flavors mostly. Baltic porters are a beer hated by many because of their sweetness, but I think this one manages to balance it well against the roasted malts. In any case, for only $2.25, this is a pretty good deal (especially considering the alcohol content)...

yea, baltic alright, even imperial if you ask me. Big dark pour from a bottle. No head, smells a little over alky IMHO. Like the big high gravity americam malt liks. It has an aroma like its gonna be strong dude. Big strong rude dark beer impy stout attack on my poor lager lovin taste buds. Lacks the gentleness of american dark lagers fer sure. Double? No triple porter. Barely any CO2 in this mouth coating medicine of a beer. Strong imperial medicine wew lingers like bad company!

My first Baltic Porter. Pours a dark brown colour with red highlights. The deep rich beige head is big, has good retention and lacing. The nose is full of molasses, chocolate and alcohol (that disappears after a bit, to be replaced by notes of nuts). Oily mouthfeel and medium-bodied. The flavours are smooth enough, with some chocolate that is between sweet and bitter, some coffee, some dark fruits and some nuts in the finish. No burning, nor alcohol in the taste. Some smoke comes out long into the aftertaste. Good first experience.

Bottle thanks to my Polish friend. Pours with a deep brown near black body and a khaki head. Aroma of dark, fruity esters, red licorice, chocolate, dusty/dirty, and light earthy spices. Taste is leather, earth, smoke, chocolate, anise and charcoal. Light, refined bubbles. Quite good. Not too smokey. As it warms it becomes slightly lactic and metallic, although not unpleasantly so.

Pretty much black, tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma with coffee, vanilla. Sweet and roasty with a quite metallic tang. Low carbonation is just about enough to stop it being syrupy. Finish is medicinal and metallic. I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as Zywiec Porter, but this was really disappointing. [2.1]Dark brown with a coat of tan head. Toffee, roasted malt, coffee, plums. Oily. Sweet with mild roasted and coffee flavours, vanilla. Delicate spices. Just mouthfilling. Finish has some licorice, coffee astringency and a little wood. Lacks depth but a million miles from my last one of these.
