Cask @ Manchester Beer & Cider Festival Jan 14. Was really looking forward to this but was left a little disappointed due to there being next to no trace of bergamot whatsoever. A nice blend of citrus hops but nothing to write home about. Will have to try from a bottle to compare.

Bottle, Marble, Chorlton. Poured a good looking slightly hazy orange with a plump lingering white head. Aroma was bright and enticing with nice tropical fruit, tea, sweet malt and grassy hop. Some good hop bitterness in the flavour which was clean and zesty with slight tea notes. Very drinkable with great balance. Nice one.

Cask @ The Gun IPA Festival, London. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, little sugar, herbal hops, lemon. Flavor is malt. tea, herbs, citrus. Medium body, soft carbonation. Rather strange beer. 150913

Medium beige coarseish head with spots of dark yeast. Slightly hazy amber body with dark yeast floaties. Spicy orangey bergamot aroma with perfumy lavender notes. Dry-sweet, and slightly astringent, orangey bergamot taste with spicy cinnamon notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish spicy lavender aftertaste with orangey grape notes. Lovely, delicate, and unusual. (0.75l bottle, from House of Trembling Madness, York.)

I was surprised, but it’s actually possible to taste the tea. I was even more surprises that IPA and tea is a really great combination.

Flaske 0,75l. Earl Grey innslaget? En litt tørr bitter ettersmak. W317.

Big 750ml bottle, W317, topped by a wire cage. Bought at the Marble Arch Inn brewpub in Manchester and shared with friends back home. Rocky, huge, white head slowly fading over a near-clear, copper coloured body. Solid lacework to the glassware. Fine aroma of herbal hops with a good fruity punch. Well blended taste of dry and fresh fruity hops. Leafy, bittersweet ending. Soft carbonated and very smooth textured. Medium to full bodied. Enjoying (at a rating session in Tromsø, 10.01.2013).
