Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours ruddy copper with a slight beige head. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel with a hint of burnt, and some floral hop. Full bodied. Flavor is sweet caramel rather overcome by a lot of floral hop, and maybe some fruity hop. Finishes with caramel, tho it’s not sweet. No heat to speak of. Good stuff.

Pours a dark orange-copper with thin head. Intense hop aroma. Flavor is hugely bitter, with the pine bite of the hops and some citrusy notes. Very thick, almost syrupy mouth feel. Quite a bitter finish to the beer. One of the better "super IPAs" floating around. This was more what I was expecting from the Dogfish Head 120 Minute--something still recognizeably an IPA, yet pushed to the extreme.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe for Hopfest, pours a cloudy murky orange with a beige head. Loads and loads of pot / hemp in here, dominating the aroma. Flavour is no less intense, with the pot-like quality coating the palate in marijuana hops. Really strong without the ABV showing. Enjoyable, but the pot becomes a little overburdening after a few sips.

On tap at the 1-4 the raod. Big cotton candy aroma backed by a mild odor of BO. Look is orangish and clear. First taste is taste bud numbing, rototilling rude pine and spruce tar sap. No carbonation in this mouth coating nasty on style brew. Yep, this style is way too much for this lager lover. Chewing on natural rubber inner tube finish and long bitter hop oil linger. Like I said, terribly on style but humanistucally, not to my liking.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed after adjusting to a new job, paying a bogus parking ticket, and finding a credit card and watch I was convinced were gone so I tore up my whole apartment, only to find both of them in the car. I need the strong stuff!!! Appearance a very bright ruby red with a thin white head that rims around the glass, looks like a witches potion. Aroma robust in citrusy hops, very sweet, malts are present but subservient, also fruity, not really grapefruit but more of some sort of passion fruit, and in a way this smells reminiscent to weed. In terms of the taste, I already feel calmer. This thing is equal parts floral and citrus hops, the malts are like Tootsie Rolls combined with the sweetness, it’s fruity, I have to say it but the aftertaste is like walking into a room that smells like Otto’s jacket, combined with a touch of alcohol but nowhere near tastes like it’s a 12%er. The hops come out even more as it warms, and the bitterness also increases but it still keeps the profile very well. Thoroughly impressed, wouldn’t have often, definitely a special occasion brew.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of bushmat1. Thanks Matt! Fairly transparent, red orange appearance with a cream colored head. Super dank, piney hoppy, bitter nose that’s probably the most potent hoppy around that I’ve come across. Whoa! The flavor is a super potent weed, piney, sticky, resiny, organic hoppy, bitter flavor. The booze is somewhat hidden behind the massive hoppiness. This is THE hoppiest beer I’ve ever tasted. I’m not a huge fan but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Aroma is marijuana, lemons, pine and toffee. The dank marijuana flavor only increases on the palate. Unfortunately, there’s also a pretty big solvent note and booze is apparent. It drinks somewhat easily for the abv, but this is still a big and sorta sticky beer. A big bitter finish reins in the malt sweetness. It’s a huge rich DIPA that stays away from the candied hop territory of sweeter versions. Appearance is a bright orange-amber with a small, dissipating off-white head. Pretty good stuff but not something I’d want often.

tap at the brewpub last summer - Pours deep copper with a small head. It smells of intense pine accented hops. The flavor is of really huge hop bitterness with pine and citrus notes that carries into the finish with a bitter, long lasting bite that seems to go on forever. It’s a full bodied brew with the abv buried in the intense flavors.

Received in trade from mcallister, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a cloudy deep amber/copper color with a minimal head and little lacing. Aroma says Hops with capitol letters. Grapefruit, pine, resin, flowers they are all there. A little caramel malt tries its best to peak through. Taste is a sticky caramel malt infused with pine trees, grapefruits, resins, etc. Not as overly bitter as I thought it might be, or maybe my palette has been killed by IBU’s. Thick mouthfeel, medium carbonation. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, decent brew.

Bottle. Orange, butterscotch and pine hops aroma. Cloudy amber color with small head. Sweet orange-caramel malt flavor initially with strongly bitter pine/quinine hops finish. Nice body.
