Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha's used to create this monster. More IBU's than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil.

A ruby red to copper IPA with a thick creamy brown head. Aroma of chalky, muskey and intense hops, resinous, raisins, veering in barley wine territory. In mouth, a smooth offering with loads of pinhey hops, alcohol warmth, mentholated coolness, resinous, treacle, well balanced. A surprise hop bomb, it lets itself drink with class.

a hardcore imperial ipa from a brewer that im liking more and more. the taste is not for the faint of heart, this should have the same warning that arrogant bastard has, youre not worthy. this has a great hop aroma that tickles your nose and the taste doesnt dissapoint. its a little tough at the end, but thats where the "youre not worthy" comes in. give yourself a pat on the back for finishing this one.

bottle shared by Dan at Wine World, pours deep gold with a thin light tan head. Aroma is strong grapefruit and pine hops with some grassy malt notes. Flavor is thick syrupy sweet malts with a mild hop bitterness ending with lingering citrus peel notes. This stuff is thick and chewy, and I would never guess 12 percent, or the 112 IBU’s, the bitterness is kind of lacking.

Bottle. Pours a fire, almost volcanic orange red. Nose of caramel malts and hops. Taste of caramel malts, hops and spice with little alcohol kick.

Mango and rosehip aroma with a slight burned clutch smell. Cloudy amber, headless. Powerfully bitter and fruity initially, sweet cherries and strawberries at midpalate, bitter again in the finish. Mango and pine notes also present. It’s like Founders threw in every hop variety they could find. Finish is overripe grapefruit peel, celery, and toasted grain. Alcohol completely drowned out by the bitterness. Transitions are neat and distinct. Absurd complexity. Bold bitterness, but palatable once you become acclimated to it. It has many things I look for in a beer except the two most important to me: balance and enjoyability. I’m somewhat amazed that such a beer can be be produced. In that sense, it is marvelous. On the other hand, I don’t want another one of this...ever.

Bottle. Poured a deep copper with a small off white head. Distinctively hoppy aroma... I got a sense of citrusy hops, as well as sweet caramely malt. I was really surprised by the flavor, expecting to get smacked in the face with hops. While I definitely got hops, it was well balanced with a caramel sweetness that kept the beer from being overwhelmingly bitter. The finish was a nice roasted malt fading into a lingering hop bitterness. Full bodied with a thick creamy mouth feel.

Pours dark orangish color with off white head. Aromas of pine and citrus hops with some caramel and alcohol. Very bitter flavor with lots of piney hops and some sweet malts and alcohol. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation and a sticky, resinous mouthfeel.

Draught at the brewery, RBSG 2010. Big citrus hop aroma (simcoe?), with cat piss and gasoline. Very strong and quite nice. Flavor is gas and hop and fruits. Very hoppy and very alcoholic. Glad I just got a taster.

12oz bottle. Beer pours out a light-red amber color with a almost white fluffy head. Aroma is hoppy, caramel goodness. Flavor is a solid hop, dry, sweet malt one. A blast. I really enjoyed this one, but took time drinking it due to the high alcohol content.
