Sunday 16th Dec 2012: Antwerp Gollem, on-tap. Comes in a strange but posh glass and holder: looks like a lager/pilsner. Fairly sweet malty nose and taste (something I like): wasn’t expecting that from the looks. More fruitiness and yeast esters arrived as the beer warmed a little, complex and interesting: the alcohol was also just about noticeable too. I enjoyed it, but it splashed over a variety of styles and it is difficult to pigeon hole as being a certain beer type. Nothing wrong with that, in fact it was fun trying to find common ground within my beery knowledge. Worth trying, if only for the glass and trying to figure out what sort of beer it is.

Bottled shared with Lupuloadicto. Golden color with a good formation of a white head with good lasting. Aroma is sweet, malty and belgian yeasty. Flavor is sweet, very drinkable, buttery notes, mild maltiness, belgian yeasty present with notes of cookies and plumbcake. The final is very good compensated, rounded and creamy on palate.

Sampled draft @ Gollem. Comes in odd looking alchemist reaction tube with a metal holder like a candle.... Crystal-golden, egg-white head – a crowd pleaser of sorts… Lots of soap in the nose of this one, grains, light yeast, white sugar,… Taste is sweet, white sugar, metallic, grains, even more soap, odd, light yeast, some grass bitter,… Light fizzy,… Too over processed, too overdone, weakest Duvel imitation by a mile so far. Like a high class malt liquor or industrial pils or something. John Martin makes some stuff that is just...

Blond beer, nice layer of foam. This beer isn’t complex, but very unbalanced. You taste a lot of alcohol and sweetness. Also malty and a light bitter finish.

75 cl Bottle tasted on January 30th. It´s "only" 8% but in the palate seems to be more alcoholic. Caramel an toast taste.

Tap @ Cockney Pub. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, light grainy, sweet fruit, spice. Flavor is malt, caramel, grain, fruit and spice. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet finish. 130113

Flaske 0,75l. Påspandert og delt med flere under rateseanse på Tårnrommet 10 Jan 13. Lys gylden. Veldig høyt luftig skum som blir nesten helt borte. Litt blir igjen på glassveggen. Svakt krydret aroma. Resten er frukt & alkohol. Ytterst kjedelig. Langt fra et typisk belgisk håndverksøl.

750ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Fluffy, white head slowly diminishing. Clear, dark golden body. Hazy last pour. Spiced fruity aroma. Grain-fruity taste with traces of alcohol. Sweet fruity finish. Medium bodied. So, so (shared at a rating session in Tromsø, 10.01.2013).

Draught. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate ma,lty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Some soapy and yeasty notes. Long moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Clear golden to orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass with each sip. Aroma: yeasty, bit metallic, grains, bit of sewers, vegetables, something's off. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very metallic, no, really, it's like a liquid version of rusty nails... a bit sugary, grains, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: mainly metallic, bitter yeast, some dairy. Drain pour! The better the story they make up, the worse the beer, right?
