Proud, headstrong, full of character. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, gave all these attributes to the rebellious Ghent “stroppendragers” or noose-wearers. And what goes for the people of Ghent also goes for this strong blonde beer.

Bottle @de Gouden Leeuw St. Lievens Houtem. Pale blonde. Pear in THE slightly perfumed flavor. Subdued peararoma. Soft yeasty notes.

The beer is okay, but for the style I think it lacks the belgian bubblegum yeast flavours. online beerwulf bottle

Bottle at Firkin Alehouse Folkestone. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Peach and banana typical Belgian yeast blond ale. With a slightly spicy hippy finish. Cereal aroma. Fine. Drinkable enough.

Bottle. Golden colour, hazy, rocky head that does not stay long. Aroma is apricot, a bit of herbs. Light bitterness. Too high carbonation, light body. Average.

Bright gold color clear, compact white head, bubbly, fading, fizzy, light persistence. Aroma is sugary/candy malts, typical esters light fruity and juicy, some lemon zest, decent grassy hops. Fluffy texture loaded of CO2. Finish clean, dry, aromatic. Well structured body balanced taste, alcohol comes up early weigh a solvent action, feels like 7+. Classic belgian ale.
