What a fun blonde beer this is. The nose is deliciously malty. The overall flavour is fruity, with hints of sweetness and a warm alcohol glow, which tapers off into a slightly bitter finish. We launched this classic beer in 1983, making it our oldest high-fermentation beer, which is re-fermented in the bottle.

Bouteille 33cl.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk. Hazy light golden with a big white head. Fruity aroma and taste, reminding me of a gentle Duvel. Nice round aftertaste. Lively carbonation.

purs very very light ( half a bottle 33 cl cause i used a small glass, maybe less clear when poured fully ) in a yelowish-see-trough kinda colour. foam is fading quite fast, yet not extremely. smell reminds me of a sweetness you can also find in la chouffe. taste definetly has that, yet its totaly not a la chouffe..it has some kinde of mini-aftertaste that kinda reminds me of some other beer... i think karmeliet ( not sure on this one) carbonation is again, too much for my taste, but not extreme at all... overall a nice beer if you like chouffe and karmeliet, thats not super intresting, yet not pushing the boundries too far so you dont like it... i think everybody could drink it, but it wouldnt be anybodys favourite...

Total Wine, Fairfax 330ml: Pours an orange colour with a small head for a Belgian. Aroma is wildflower honey, fruitiness, and another note that is very particular to some Belgian ales. Taste is somewhat sweet, owing to the intense honey overtones. Has an off-note or two. Still, it is really smooth and pretty nice to drink. Alcohol covered up, but it kind of has like a hard liquor taste in a way.

Drank in the very pleasant surroundings of ’The Tr@cks and Travellers Bar’ Knokke-Heist in Belgium. This is a poor mans Duvel, even down to the glass. Everything is Duvel like, the look, aroma and aftertaste even. But all a little paler and weaker in every aspect. Nothing wrong with it, but I’d rather have the real thing, wouldn’t you?

330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 7.5%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy in the end, huge white head. Aroma of grassy hops and mild spices. The flavour is quite refreshing for its strength, not too sweet, some fruity notes and mild spices again, moderate hops in the finish. Fairly decent beer, might buy again - but a slight metallicness in the aftertaste makes me uncertain about that.
