Damn. This beer is interstellar, and despite the growth in great sours in the US, we see here they still need to take some lessons from the classics. Sweet and sour. First the sour, it's not overwhelming punch in the mouth sour, but a nice "right there" tartness, acetic in nature with a tinge of balsamic flavor. The sweet is not malt, as the beer is attenuated nicely, giving it a semi-dry finish and lighter palate. The sweet is a rich blend of fruits, I guess the cranberries and cherries stand out but on the whole it's really just a nice element of fruitiness. Cloudy, sedimented pour, reddish-brown, small head.

Bottle, bbf 15-05-2020. Color: Clear red, firm light pink head. Taste: Wow! Very nice mix of sweetish and sour taste, combined with complex fruit notes of cherries, raspberry and cranberries. It's very nice that you can taste each fruit seperately in each sip. Hints of wood. The fruit makes the Flemish red tasting somewhat sweeter. Let each sip slowly roll through your mouth for full flavors Full body, soft carbonation. Superb!

Medium coarseish fizzing head quickly disappears entirely, leaving a thin thin white ring. Hazy opaque intensely red body. Deep red berry and acid aroma with wooden notes. Sweet-acidic raspberry and wood taste with cherry notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish-acidic cherry and raspberry aftertaste with waxy earthy peppery notes. Nice, highly drinkable, easy to like fruity sour-sweet beer. Not the most characterful or complex, but still a very good beer. (0.75l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)

Aus der Flasche (2013) im 2014-07 getrunken. Hmmm! Das Robenbach Grand Cru ist ja schon Klasse, aber das hier gebraut mit frischen Kirschen, Himbeeren und Preiselbeeren ist ein Hammer! Traumstoff! Aus der Flasche (2020) im 2020-06 getrunken. Auch diese aktuelle Version kommt mit seiner Fasslagerung und den Einsatz der Früchte sehr gut und ausgewogen daher. Es ist ganz klar im Stil ein Flämisch Red/Bruin und der typischen Rodenbach Charakter ist sehr deutlich. Die Säure ist präsent aber gut balanciert. Eine Bitterkeit durch Himbeerkerne ist erkennbar aber immer noch harmonisch ist. Es bleibt wieder einmal ein super leckeres Rodenbach im Glas - Prost!

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense red with limited pink foam. Aroma is intense cherries. Body is fairly light, feeling almost like a drink. Taste is an enjoyable combination of sweet and sour, the former coming soon, and the latter more afterwards. Finish is short and clean.
