Named for the jet-black core of an extinct volcano, our Black Tusk Ale is an award winning English style dark ale. Brewed from the original recipe, with a special blend of imported chocolate and roasted malts, this easy to drink brew has a smooth finish with a hint of cocoa and roasted coffee.

Draft@Vancouver Airport, Canada. Vibrant blackish brown beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is gently malty, and the flavour is malty with some bitterness and roasted'ness. Overall a nice gently roasted and malty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at WaaZuBee CafΓ©, Vancouver
the tap handle says that itβs brewed by Whistler Brewing, not Bear
Dark brown color. Light aroma of roasted malts and puke. Soft mouthfeel, light dark caramel flavor, possibly some residual sweetness, and low bitterness. Simple and boring.

Bottle from an Albertsons! Pours a very dark brown with a large foamy beige head. Aroma is rather nutty over smooth chocolate/burnt malt. Medium minus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is a little nutty, more chocolate. Not strong. But good. I could drink this frequently.

11.2 oz bottle into English pint. Aroma is caramel malt; doughy. Pours dark brown with pretty good lacework with a medium off-white head which retains itself for a few minutes leaving a collar of foam. Taste is roasted coffee. A little sweet, no real bitterness. Finishes with a light tang. A bit thin in body. Carbonation is medium. My overall impression is that this is pretty bland, but compared to the last three beers Iβve drank itβs a huge step up. Iβm not sure if Iβve ever had a mild ale before. Not bad, but not great. Addendum: nice malty roasted aroma opens up considerably as it warms. I should have let the bottle warm a bit before ranking. It was too cold at first.

Bottle. Boured black with red tinge and medium beige head. Aroma is anything but subtle but is malty and powerful. Flavour is medium malty with a bitter edge and a bit of espresso. Lingering malt finish. Finish does not overpower but comes and goes.

Brown with large, lasting tan head and good Belgian lace. Slightly astringent dry malt nose. Light chocolate malt flavor with light hopping and a slightly dry finish.
