Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, small head. The aroma is mild, with phenol. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is on the dry side; strong roasted malt flavor, a bit of chocolate, a hint of coffee, but also some chemical, phenol; the alcohol is a bit too evident; the hops are more visible in the final, and they carry resiny quality.
Good, but imprecise.

Bottle - Nice roast, caramel, malts and some pine. Deep brown with a decent small white head. Dark malty notes with some pine. Nice and balanced, but some masked buttery notes,

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is lovely, with loads of piney hops and roasted malt in great balance. Flavour is likewise wonderfully balanced, with piney hops and caramel roasted malt. There is a bit of diacetyl in here that I didn't get initially, but it's masked decently by everything else. Quite good despite the flaws.
