Vicaris Tripel/Gueuze is the perfect thirst-quencher for hot summer days. For this beer, brewery Dilewyns works together with a renowned gueuze brewer from the Zenne valley.
The complex interaction between Vicaris Triple and gueuze makes this beer unique. The sharp sourness of the spontaneously fermented lambiek beautifully counters the fruity and soft Vicaris Triple. The result is a rich beer with a fresh mild acidity and a soft finish.
Vicaris Triple/Gueuze is only available from May to September (subject to availability).

tap at Dash In - Pours hazy yellow-orange with a small lingering head. It smells of spicy yeast with some light fruit tones. There’s a sweet flavor with subdued wild yeast funk that comes out a little more as it warms, but it’s still mild. There’s also some indistinct fruit character. Pretty good beer but I’m with those who wish the lambic portion of the blend was more assertive.

33cl bottle from Geers. Dorée, col blanc épais. Arôme donne un nez qui prend plus les éléments de le gueuze que de la triple, le tout restant néanmoins très agréable. Palais est agréable alternant le profile type du lambic avec le côté plus épais et alcoolisé d’une triple. Note de houblonnage à cru, grains, levure, le tout est sec et poussiéreux, pointe d’amertume citronné, pêche voire même ananas. Au final, très belle découverte avec la triple qui se fait plus discrète.

On tap (as Vicaris Triple Gueuze). Pours with a clear, straw hued yellow body with a white head that fades. Aromas are musty, baked apple, straw, barnyard, bretty phenolics, light chlorine and some alcohol. Flavors are a bit sweet, boozy, some paper. Mild sourness, musty, tannin and funk. Lively bubbles, dry and slightly warming. Odd.

Hazy golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, honey, hops, citrus, apricot, some light funky notes. Sweet malty flavour, light sour touch. Finish quite malty, honey and fruit.

Bottle @ Heeren Van Liedekercke Bierfest, 2012. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Funky and dry. Grain, mild yeast and barnyard. Pleasant tartness. It works.

Sample at the DBLDP on 09/02/2012: Hazy yellow pour with a medium white head that evaporates quickly. Aroma of lemons, wheat and grain. Medium-bodied with a mildly sour fruit character and notes of yeast, malt and spice. The finish is slightly funky with a short fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

Slightly hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma was light grains, fruity, light funk, and some floral. Medium, bubbly body. Flavor was lightly floral, fruits, honey sweetness, a bit of lemon and slight tartness. A tad dissapointing but still a good beer. (Draught at Monk’s, Philly)
