On tap at Imbre Hall. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is light nutty notes and some toast. The flavor is a bit of lactose, some mellow toasted malts, a bit of berries. Good.

Portland trip. Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark black color with a medium sized soapy tan head. The aroma was faint sweet malts. The flavor was malty, nutty, somewhat sweet and slightly bitter. Bitter finish. Medium body. Ok.

Draft. Mahogony beer with a light tan hyead. Caramel and light grapefruit aroma. Caramel malt, grapefruit flavor with nutty malt characteristics. Medium bodued. Nutty caramel lingers with a bit of pine and grapefruit. Interesting. Not what I expected.

Draught pint at restaurant. Not much aroma. Faint taste of malt, no bitterness. Not much body, not sweet, not bitter, not malty nor fruity. Slight bite in finish. Undistinguished and unmemorable. McMenamins makes better beers and there are many better browns out there.

Draught at White Eagle, Portland. Clear dark brownish amber. Neutral aroma. Light bodied with clean, hard mouthfeel. Some syrup, but otherwise not much flavour. Low bitterness. Incredibly uninspired.
