The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

Sample of a 2004 vintage bottle at the Avery 23rd Anniversary Party. Cloudy reddish brown pour, with a small, light tan head. Nose of caramel, peanut, butterscotch, peat, a bit musty, and cloves. Very sweet, with light bitterness. Very heavy body, syrupy, grainy, and thick. This is a seriously intense and delicious beer. Strong and very deep, but smooth and focused.

Pours a hazy reddish-brown from a bottle, thin head with small bubbles, some lacing. Aroma of raisins, boozy; flavor of turbinado, raisins, spicy hops. Alcohol burn is front and center. Good beer.

4 oz bottle pour (2010 Batch 8) at ChurchKey during the 22 years of Avery event. Clear dark amber with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, oak, booze, caramel. Tastes of caramel, butterscotch, oak, booze. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Possibly slightly oxidized. Still a lot of booze after 5 years. Definitely a slow sipper unless you want to get stupid.

2004 bottle shared tonight by Todd, thanks for the opportunity! Very sweet and still has a bit of alcohol to it. Very fruity. Probably past but nice to try.
